Inv. P Pevehouse
Fort Smith, Ark.—The Cavanaugh United Methodist Church is hosting a dinner to help purchase a ballistic vest for Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Asi”. The money raised by the church will help with other needs for the SCSO K-9 program. The fund raising dinner will be held at the Cavanaugh United Methodist Church, 7205 Highway 271 South in Fort Smith. The time scheduled is from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on July 26, 2013. The cost of the dinner will be a donation to help “Asi”.
The Cavanaugh United Methodist Church saw a need and has stepped up to help their community. The members of the church have worked very hard in preparation of the event and invite the community to come and support their efforts. The Sheriff’s Office is very appreciative of the church and her desire to help.
“Asi” is a three year old female Belgian Malinois. She is assigned to Deputy Randy White. Her male counterpart is 2.5 year old male Belgian Malinois named “Enzo”. He is assigned to Deputy Ron Decker. The canines are cross trained for narcotics detection, tracking, and patrol work.
“It is always great to see the community support the efforts of the law enforcement community. It touches the hearts of all of the officers and deputies of our area”, said Inv. Philip Pevehouse.
